Bill specializes in patent, trademark, and copyright law with a focus on a wide range of technologies including life sciences, software, electronics, digital media, and clean technology companies.
Bill’s counseling experience includes strategic IP counseling and global patent portfolio development, drafting non-infringement and validity opinions, freedom-to-operate analyses, invention records management plans, and patent portfolio and internal patent processes management.
Bill’s patent prosecution experience includes drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications in a wide range of technology spaces including biotechnology, software and data security, oil and gas, automation and controls, and amusement park ride equipment. Bill also has significant experience in negotiating and drafting license agreements and intellectual property due diligence as it relates to mergers and acquisitions.
Bill’s trademark practice includes counseling clients regarding brand protection and international trademark portfolio strategy, including clearance analyses and maximizing brand protection and value. Bill also assist companies, large and small, to implement internal brand protection processes.
Prior to joining the firm, Bill worked with General Electric, where he drafted patent applications and managed global portfolios for a number of GE businesses including GE Intelligent Platforms, GE Healthcare, GE Aviation, GE Oil and Gas, and NBC/Universal Studios.
In Bill's free time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
Brittany's practice areas include trademark, copyright law, media law, corporate transactions and trade secret law. Brittany has experience working on all types of trademark filings and communications, maintaining large IP portfolios, and drafting trademark assignment agreements.
Brittany graduated summa cum laude with honors from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science major in Psychology in a total of three years. While at Florida State, Brittany was the Director of Scholarship for her sorority, was a member of the University's Greek Conduct Board, and was the Vice President of the Pre-Law Society.
After graduating, Brittany attended law school at the University of Miami College of Law. She was awarded the Dean's Merit Scholarship from Miami Law and was awarded a full academic scholarship. Brittany was a member of the Intellectual Property Society and Miami Law women.
In Brittany's free time, she enjoys teaching pilates and spending time with her family.
